He also ran good races in defeat including a fine second to Celestial Gold in the Hennessy at Newbury. A leg injury ruled out a shot at the Gold Cup but he is reportedly in good shape and his trainer Nigel Twiston Davies is enjoying a purple patch at present. OLLIE MAGERN’s ultimate target is the Blue Riband of chasing and the seven-year-old can take a step in the right direction by winning on Saturday.
